platris
I wrote up a quick writeup about platris on my blog!
Alright so this is a game I made to learn a bit about making games in Godot. The last game I made was in high school. This game is not good. The first player to play it called it "anxiety inducing." You're definitely on this page because I sent you this link.
ANYWAY here are the rules:
- Play tetris on the left screen with WASD / SPC / Z (hold piece).
- Move the guy on the right with IJKL.
- Clear the little beams on the right by clearing a row at the same height in tetris on the left.
- Stomp on the red buttons to clear a tetris row for free! We're giving away row clears here.
- Hit "O" when your guy is at the computer on the right to...do something. Figure that one out yourself. It's important to preserve a sense of mystery even in the age of the internet.
- Make it to the flowers at the top to win.
- Get frustrated, quit, tell me that the game was great and you had a great time.
Everyone got it? Cool.
I ended up hand-drawing the assets for this game but used a whole bunch of public assets during development. Thank you very much to l-gad and zegley in particular for saving me a bunch of time as I was exploring Godot :)
The code for platris is on github.

it took me a while to understand that SPC means the Space key. but that's such a small quirk though, this is an impressive effort for your first game. definitely will be looking forward to seeing what you do next.
Hey, thanks! Sorry about the SPC/Space confusion - I had gone with SPC because I felt like I didn't have much space (heh) for the whole word but...that's not true - I changed it to "Space" instead.
very good.
this has no reason to be this fun
